Can anyone please tell me if you can use your own skates either at the rink at the Christmas market or at the Indoor one PATINOIRE JEAN BOIN. Seems a waste to take them with us only to find out we can%26#39;t use them.
Thanks to everyone who have submitted their suggestions to this website. I have really enjoyed reading all your comments and now can%26#39;t wait for our visit in January.

The Christmas market ice rink - Ive seen it over a number of years now but not noticed any %26quot;skate hire%26quot; facility - I think people just use their own.

My daughter ice-skates at the Christmas market every year, we%26#39;ll be there again this December. Based on past years (so it might be different this year) there are four skating sessions each day, 11-12:30, 1-2:30pm, 3-4:30pm and 5-6:30pm. The price in the past was 5 euros and that included the skate rental. There was no reduced price for those who brought their own skates. Gloves are obligatory.
I think it will be fine to take your own skates, but it%26#39;s really not worth it, the rental ones are fine and after skating, you won%26#39;t want to be lugging your skates around the Christmas market and shops and big wheel etc. The rink isn%26#39;t very big but on a sunny day it%26#39;s great fun and there are places to buy a beer or coffee and pancakes and waffles for those not skating or to re0fyuel afterwards.
There%26#39;s a small kiosk to buy the ticket which you then take to a larger kiosk to swap your shoes for skates, it%26#39;s very quick and easy.
I%26#39;ve seen the indoor rink but never skated there, it%26#39;s huge. I%26#39;m sure taking your own skates is fine but again, I don%26#39;t think it%26#39;s worth it.
