Viva La Strike

Well I leave tomorrow for a trip that I have planning for months. Many thanks to you all of you for advice and tips.

Despite our apartment being cancelled last minute and substituted and despite the strikes we are determined to have a fun and relaxing vacation. (Thank goodness I broke in my walking shoes as I am sure I am going to need them)

My only hope is that the wine will not be on strike ;)

To anyone who will be there this week November 16th-24th and is interested in working together to arrange trips to Versaille and/or Chartres let me know as with more than 2 people savings are much greater on private tours.

Also to those who are begining to plan your trip now keep in mind that no matter how much you plan (for me it was an obsession) there are always things that are out of your control and as my husband says too much planning can be a bad thing. He is right as I am sure this week I might not get to do all of the things on my rather lengthy list but I know I will not be running from place to place to cram everything in and it gives me a chance to sit and relax. Afterall isn%26#39;t that what a vacation should be :)

KimbaPA: I assure you the wine will not be on strike! Just go to the Nicolas on Ile St Louis, get a good bottle (and some cheese at B. Lefranc, and some bread at one of the boulangeries) and enjoy your balcony overlooking the Seine! (I suspect you will find that your list of things to do actually will make it unnecessary to do much planning for the next two trips - other than of the %26quot;I must go back there%26quot; variety - as you won%26#39;t get to it all but can look forward to doing it %26quot;next time%26quot;!)

Have a really great time.
