any suggestions for birthday treat

I would like to take my husband on a romantic short break to paris for his birthday spring 08. I have not been before and I want a romantic setting with top class service, hotel only please. Any suggestions.

I am assuming that price is no object. Although I have not stayed at the Pavillion de la Reine, I have been in the lobby, which is lovely. I just read some of the reviews on TA-it is the 13th most popular hotel in Paris. The reviews seem to indicate top class service. I know the area is romantic, as it sits just off the Place des Voges.

An other romantic place, a little cheaper than Pavillon de la Reine, is the Hotel du Jeu de Paume : staying on the island is the treat !

Try the lovely small Hôtel le Madison, on the Blvd. St-Germain-des-Prés. Rooms on the front are beautiful and spacious, for Paris, with large, well equipped bathrooms. Buffet breakfast or continental in your room. Many good restaurants are nearby, as are major tourist sights and the Seine.
