Weeks Parking in Paris?

Hello all

I am going to stay in a nice little apartment in Marais during the week of Christmas (22-29th).

I am contemplating driving rather than flying from London as it would be cheaper - but there is no parking available at the flat.

I won%26#39;t need the car for the week, so I am curious if there are there any options for long term parking nearby (or indeed, outside of town) that could be an option?

Any suggestions welcome!

Thanks

Hi, We drove from North Lincolnshire in June of this year to Paris. I found a website www.inter-parking-france.com. (others are available) They show various car park sites over Paris. We parked at Gare de Lyon for 7 days. it cost us 82 euros. The car park was undergound with security. We had no problems, although we did have a problem trying to find the entrance. Once in we took a ticket to go through the barrier. We then parked the car and found the onsite office. We did have a little difficulty communicating but a car rental guy nearby helped us translate. The guy there had an envelope for us with our prepaid parking ticket and receipt. After the 7 days we put the prepaid parking ticket in the barrier and went straight out. Easy -no problems.

Try www.vincipark.com which has loads of car parks in and just outside of Paris. With a bit of searching you should be able to find something for less than 15EUR per day. Try Porte de la Chapelle, just a stone%26#39;s throw from the Peripherique (ring road). I think that%26#39;s quite cheap. From here, bus 65 will take you to Bastille (you%26#39;d then have a bit of a walk), or there%26#39;s metro line 12: you would need to change trains to get to the Marais, but can%26#39;t give you any detail as you don%26#39;t say exactly where you%26#39;re staying.

www.parking2000.com will charge 50 EURO for a week, but maybe a little out of the way. It%26#39;s on the 54 bus route though and 10 mins to the metro.

Porte de la Chapelle 48EURO for up to 15 days.

Thanks for everyone%26#39;s replies. It does seem quite reasonably priced but it would appear that we have left it quite late to book the eurotunnel / ferries for Christmas. It has worked out much cheaper to fly!

Thanks again though, I%26#39;d like to do this next time...
