We%26#39;d like to go on an evening seine cruise (just a regular one, not a dinner cruise), and we%26#39;re trying to decide between these two operations. Does anyone have any input on either? To give you some more information that may help with the choice, we%26#39;re staying at Yllen Eiffel (196 rue Vaugirard). I think the V. du Pont Neuf are closer to our hotel, but we%26#39;d travel further if the other operation is better.
Merci!

Oh, and one more question: what is the best time to go on a cruise this time of year if we want an evening cruise and would like to see everything lit up?
|||
I prefer les Vedettes du Pont Neuf as boats are smaller. But itinerary is same so I would recommend you take the one that is closest to where you are at time of cruise.
What time depends on time of year. In summer, you can take the 9:00 or even 10:00 boat to see monuments lit up.
Right now it is more like 5:00 or 6:00.
Enjoy! And set your camera on a higher ISO!

Given your location--
HÔTEL YELLEN EIFFEL (3-star) 196 rue de Vaugirard (at: rue de Volontaires), 75015, Metro: #12-Volontaires--
neither the BATEAUX-MOUCHES (departing from the Right Bank quai at Pont d%26#39;Alma) nor VEDETTES du PONT NEUF (departing from the quai below Pont Neuf) will be the most convenient. The Seine sightseeing cruise boats departing from the quais just below Eiffel Tower--VEDETTES de PARIS and BATEAUX PARISIENS will be closer and more convenient to your hotel%26#39;s location.
BATEAUX MOUCHES--

VEDETTES du PONT NEUF--(check the Tab at the site for internet Ticket and Discount Coupon offers)

BATEAUX PARISIENS--

But I%26#39;m not sure that it makes a great deal of difference. All of the Seine sightseeing cruises travel around pretty much the same %26#39;..circuit..%26#39; along the Seine from Eiffel Tower to Ile Saint Louis...and past all of the same sights. Of the group, the boats used by VEDETTES du PONT NEUF are the smallest. VEDETTES du PONT NEUF also offers the best internet discount or pre-purchased ticket deal. We%26#39;ve used the Vedettes du Pont Neuf more often...simply because we usually stayed in the upper-6eme...just down the block from Pont Neuf and they were there...but we%26#39;ve also taken the larger Bateaux Mouches boats and been just as happy with them.

Thank you, that%26#39;s very helpful!

Hi...I just took the Vedettes du Pont Neuf cruise on Nov. 1 and there last boat was at 9 pm. It was plenty dark enough at 8 to go also...
I was late making the 8 o%26#39;clock boat - having planned to meet two friends...and went into the bar to kill an hr... to take the 9pm boat alone...
and the owner bought me a drink.!. So....my vote of course, is for Vedettes!!!
Dress warmly and sit up front...it was very enjoyable!

We went on the Vendettes de Pont Neuf cruise in early October, and really enjoyed it! Note that our guide/crew were on the younger side (mid 20%26#39;s), so the feel of the eve was casual- they joked a bit and we enjoyed their humor.
Be sure to visit their website and print out a coupon (you can save a euro or two!)

Hi-
My vote is for Pont Neuf, although we had trouble understanding our guide with the combo of her accent and the PA system. We enjoyed the more intimate numbers-
enjoy! ( I am in Paris now!)
