Could someone tell me where the bus station is located in Nice if I want to take a bus to Monaco and/or Eze? Is it near the Old Town or closer to the train station? We will be there in beginning November and will stay at La Perouse - it is walkable from there?
Thank you.

Its around 15 minutes walk through old Nice. The Gare Routiere is just the other side, on the North/South Boulevard Jean Jaures, near Place Garribaldi and the suspended gardens built over the Paillon riverbed.
The train station is another ten minutes further

NiceLife knows more about the area than me but personally I would take the train which follows the coast from Nice to Monaco.

Going to Eze, I would take the bus. For Monaco, the train.

From La Perouse, you could also nip around the foot of Castle Hill and pick up the 100 to Monaco or the 82 to Eze Village from the stop called %26#39;Port%26#39; opposite the large church at the head of the Port, it%26#39;s about 5 minutes very easy walk. It%26#39;s a nice bus ride east from Nice and great value for 1,30 euros. Both buses start from the main Bus Station or Gare Routiere, but the next main stop is the Port stop.
Eze Village is a very high perched village, you can walk up from the coast or down from the village, it%26#39;s a tough walk both ways and do a circular tour using the 82 and 100 buses, you can also pick up an 83 bus from the coast to get you up to Eze Village from Eze (by the sea)
The train is very quick to Monaco but if you factor in the walk from La
Perouse, it%26#39;s possibly not worth it, a closer train station is Riquier but it means a slow, stop-at-all stops train so overall I think the bus is better.
best wishes

I%26#39;m with AllAboutNice on this one. Walk around the headland from your hotel, there is nothing but view after view! Look at the amazing wealth on display in Nice port and then get the 100 bus to Monaco from there - the bus stop is signposted.
Eze is more complicated by bus and I%26#39;ve only ever driven there so I leave that to the public transport experts.
Monaco is an amazing place and you have to go there.

Thanks so much everyone for the great information. I think we will definitely do the bus to both Monaco and Eze and now that I know it is right around the corner from LaPerouse it%26#39;s a no brainer. I bet the views will be outstanding which is why we picked La Perouse to begin with. My husband will definitely enjoy the port too. Can%26#39;t wait - just under 7b weeks to go!!! Thanks again.

As your husband is interested in boats, he might like to know that some of those at the port can be rented for less than US$100,000 a week. For that you get the boat and the crew but don%26#39;t know if it includes food. Only about $98,000 more than a hotel.

You can also take bus 112 to Eze and Monaco (doesn%26#39;t run on sundays). Schedules (on French):

Well London Bob - even if it does include the food I think we%26#39;ll have to pass on the boat rental!!!! That would use up about 9 years worth of vacation money for us so my husband will have to just look and dream unless our lottery ticket turns out to be a big winner!! Or maybe if we hit big at the Casino while we%26#39;re there - now there%26#39;s a thought - right!!
Bill2005 - thanks a bunch for the website - good information.

Hi there,
I would advise you to go to Monaco by train only.
The main train station is located in the center of the city, on the top of the Avenue Jean Medecin.
5 euros per person, 30 minutes maximum.
Monaco%26#39;s train station is 1 minute walk from the coast...
