Hi
The Louvre and the Orsay will be open, as will most other museums.
Easter Monday is observed by most as a holiday. Schools closed, buses on holiday schedule, lots of small businesses closed....
but monumentsand the Louvre will be open. The Orsay and those museums usually closed on Mondays will of course be closed...

Shops will be closed on Sunday and on Monday as well.

My family and I are going to be in Paris then too, and I%26#39;ve had these same concerns.
Only-Lyon, when you say shops will be closed, what do you mean exactly? Would this include all pattiseries, charcuteries, etc? Restaurants?
Sounds like a ghost town. Well, except for all the people.

I spent Easter week in Paris last year and didn%26#39;t notice anything different in terms of things being closed than at other times of the year. This was a 5th trip and the weather was so nice that we did not visit many museums ( An exhibit of Singer at the Petit Palais and one of photographs at the Library) and many of the places around tourists sites were crowded, Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, and the cafes were full, but there are so many nice places to have a drink andd to walk along the Seine that it wasn%26#39;t a problem. We are planning trip #6 %26#39;round about the same time in %26#39;08.

Merew, except the shops for tourists in tourists area, all shops are closed on Sundays in France, unlike in the USA. There are exceptions on Sunday morning for boulangeries / pâtisseries (a few are open). Of course there are also food markets. And a lot of bars and restaurants (I don%26#39;t consider they are shops) are open (not the majority).
Easter monday is usually exactly as a Sunday.

Well that%26#39;s good to know.
As long as I can buy my daughters a pan au chocolat in the morning, we%26#39;ll be fine.
Merci.

Yes Sundays and bank holidays are usually nice in Paris : not as vibrant as other days, not many cars in the streets, a quiet atmosphere.
Some areas are pedestrian for the day, for example along Canal Saint Martin or rue des Martyrs, only accesible by foot or bike, I like that !
The only thing is to make sure you plan your shopping an other day.
