We will be in Paris on 11-24 and would like an idea of the cost and availability of a cab to start our day at Notre Dame. We are a family of 5 and I am concerned because of the current strike. We are arriving on the Eurostar from London early in the am. Thank you for any insights.

We took a cab from Ile St Louis to the Gare du Nord in July...
seems to me it was under 15 euros.

The regular TAXI PARISIAN fare from Gare du Nord to Notre Dame should run approx 10 €....but there will be official surcharges ADDED to the metered fare---2.75€ ea. for the 4th %26amp; 5th passengers...plus 1€ per bag (after the 1st).
For your traveling party, you will require a min-van type taxi...so you MAY have to wait in the regular taxi rank for a few minutes until a mini-van taxi is available.
To get to the regular taxi rank at Gare du Nord, you simply walk to the end of your Eurostar arrival platform, turn Right onto the main station concourse and walk straight ahead (75-100 meters?) until you %26#39;bump%26#39; into the TAXI rank at the end of the concourse. If there is a %26#39;..trick..%26#39; to taxis for Eurostar arrivals at Gare du Nord...it is to have your act together and be ready to detrain as soon as the train stops at the platform and make your way quickly to the regular taxi rank.

(75-100 meters) ?
It is more like 10 to 20 if we want a precise answer !
There is a line for taxis exactly where KDK says it is. Most of the time there is a person to monitor the line, find the right taxi for the size of your party etc. It is generally done in a very organized way.
Wait is never very long even if Eurostar is full as some people use other forms of transportation. (I do not arrive by Eurostar but I frequently arrive by Thalys).
Strike should be over by the 24th.

With apologies...I%26#39;d forgotten that the EUROSTAR arrival platforms are closer to the west side of Gare du Nord..and nearer to the TAXI rank there.....But whether 10 meters or 100 meters...getting to the TAXI rank quickly can be the difference between a wait of a minute of two...or MUCH longer for a taxi when Eurostar trains arrive.

Thanks everyone for the great info, looking forward to Paris!
