Which area to stay?

My husband and I have been to Paris several times for short trips--few days at a time. We%26#39;ve toured the major monuments and museums (and will revisit several), explored arr. 1, 4, 5 and 6 (close to the river), and touched on 7. We%26#39;re planning a month-long stay in February in an apartment and are thinking about exploring some part of Paris we haven%26#39;t yet tried. I%26#39;m especially thinking about Montorgueil or Canal Martin. Please share your ideas with me about which area to use as our base,

if you stay again in the 4 or 6 you are not so far from a lot of things and the nightlife in the 6 is always lively or busy ...
