Rugby - Paris - Stade Jean Bouin

We will be traveling to Paris in January to watch a rugby match at Stade Jean Bouin. Can anyone recommend a place to stay that would be near the Stade Jean Bouin stadium. What area would be best to base ourselves? How good is transport?

Thanks

Le Stade Jean Bouin is easely reachable by transport like Metro with the ligne 9 station Exelmans or Porte de St Cloud you can miss it , it just few meters from the %26quot;Auteuil seating%26quot; side belong to the Parc des Princes Stadium :Paris SG football Club %26#39;s home.

About your stay the area of the Stade Jean Bouin is not very lively at evening excepted the days of the matches so you would better stay in an another district of Paris like the Latin Quarter or others , anyway Paris is not so big and the Metro network works great so wherever you %26#39;ll stay it won%26#39;t take you so much time to go.

Ps: sorry for my poor english !

Thank you Yves for your help. I am certain that your English is better than my French. I have never traveled outside an english speaking country so I am feeling a bit nervous. I am originally from the USA, foreign language was not something I studied. I am very much looking forward to visiting Paris.

Hiya! My French is null and I get around just fine... :-)

As long as there is no %26quot;greve%26quot; when you get there you should be fine going places as transport is ussually very good. There are a few hotels near the stadium but as Yves mentioned not much to do around there. The Stade Francaise bar gets busy on match nights and there is an Irish pub not too far away (Marcel Sembat Metro), a few restaurants, brasseries, etc...in the St Cloud area. Eiffel tower is about 25 minutes metro then you are a bike distance from Louvre, Champs Elysees, Pont Neuf, Chatelet, etc...

So sumarizing to answer you questions:

1) will be better off based in Paris rather than St Cloud/Boulogne where stadium is.

2)Transport if no strike going on is very good, Bus, Metro, train, public bikes...

Try the %26quot;raclette%26quot; if you have a chance. melted cheese, cold cuts, etc...yum,yum,yum.

You%26#39;ll love Paris; have fun!
