which hotel?

My husband and I will be going to Paris in April for 6 days. We were there 2 years ago and stayed at La Perle. We loved the area! Close to everything. However La Perle did need some renovations. We do not know if anything was done since then. I have been reading about Henry IV Rive Gauche. The price is lower and it get better reviews, how close is it to La Perle and is the Henry in just as good location? Thanks to all who can advise.

hi, there... you could figure out %26#39;how close%26#39; the hotels are by using Google maps...

and probably you can tell if the location of Henri IV Rive Gauche is good for you by reading the reviews thoroughly, not to mention you can pull up lots of threads recommending it by use the forum search... Also, if you see where the hotel is in a map of Paris + you see where most of your sightseeing places are located, you can then know if it is a good location for your trip.

Other than those comments, it is close to the Seine and close to the islands, and so pretty centrally located.

Henri IV RG is in the 5th/Latin Quarter, but it%26#39;snot far from La Perle which is in the 6th/St. Germain area. I mean you can easily walk it between the two locations if that%26#39;s what you are wondering. Yes. Generally both are in very good locations.

Which hotel is better?

Answering which hotel is better without having stayed in either one is difficult especially if I%26#39;m not the one booking the room. But if you ask my opinion as to which location I would prefer I would say St. Germain. It really is easy to walk over to St. Germain from the Latin Quarter even if you choose the Henri IV RG.

As to the rooms I will be honest and state that I don%26#39;t like the way La Perle%26#39;s rooms appear (via their website) if I were to choose between these two hotels specifically. They seem to be overpriced for what you get. Perhaps someone who has stayed at both hotels can advise you better than I could.

In any event, you may just need to do what others do and trust the reviews more or less and just take a chance based on what you personally desire in a hotel and its location (i.e. do a bit of research as to which location you think you%26#39;d like better).
