St. Emilion Vineyards and Vicinity

I will be traveling in this region and wanted to know what the best way to get to St. Emilion from Paris is. I would also like to visit the Lascaux Caves and Rocomadour Castle. Would it be feasible to do all of this in two days? Does anyone recommend renting a car in Bordeaux and driving to these other places? Please let me know if you have any recommendations

of course, renting a car means freedom ... but first from Paris to Bordeaux, book a place in the TGV from Montparnasse station ... go to www.voyages-sncf.com, and buy your prems tickets (only bookable 3 months before your dates) ...On the same web site, you can book your car and go to St Emilion, then Rocamadour and visit Lascaux caves (but not the original, because i think it%26#39;s closed, but not quite sure), then back to Bordeaux ....

For sure take TGV to Bordeaux then rent St Emilion is lovely.. Lacaux is a reproduction but still interesting but look at Font de Gaume original cave you have to get a reservation but can be done online ( search this forum there was a thread in August/Sept. we did both in September much preferred Font de Gaume. only 6 of us on English speaking tour. Many great wines in/ around St Emilion..also very good tourist info center. You will be pushing it to do all in two days but can be done. chek www.viamichelin.com for driving routes/ times/ distances excellent site you can custom driving directions.. also see if you can get gps for car rental we had one for first time and can%26#39;t say how great it was!
