Hello,
Does anyone know of anywhere to go snowboarding that is similar to Les Brevieres? We went there last year and absolutely loved it, but don%26#39;t want to be boring and go to the same place twice! We really liked that it was so quiet and pretty - any ideas?

hi,just down the road from Les Brevieres there is the resort of Saint--Foy-Tarentaise,this is a great lttle resort often overlooked by skiers heading up to Val and Tignes, those that go to Les Arcs and La rosiere are rewarded for crossing the valley and heading to Ste.Foy for the day. The resort would be a great base to explore the surrounding ski areas as it only has around 25km or so of pistes, but the offpiste is exceptional(but only with the use of a guide),from Ste.Foy you can access the Les Arcs ski area by driving to the little village of Le Pre,which is just down the road back towards Bourg-Saint-Maurice,just as you get to the village of Ste.Foy(the other one down the road) there is a turning to the left posted for Villaroger follow the road through the village square and follow the sign for Le Pre Dernier and Le Ferme(le ferme is one of the best restaurant/bars in the area and is located right at the bottom of the Aiguille Rouge and can be skied down to snow permiting.
Other resorts with ample charm are Serre Chevaliere,St.Martin-de-Belleville and Courmayeur, although these are based on my opinion and everyones tastes vary.
hope this has given you some thoughts and wish you a safe and ebjoyable trip where ever you decide.

Hi,
Yes, St Foy or St Martin de Belleville are both small but with easy access to good ski areas. I haven%26#39;t been up to St Foy for a couple of years now - there was a lot of building going on when I was last there, so it may have lost a bit of its charm.
Monchavin, the lowest station of the La Plagne resorts also has that rustic farmers feel (maybe because a number of the ski instructors are farmers in the summer) although can suffer in high temperatures. That said, the vanoise express and other lifts can soon get you up to some great snow.
Cheers,
Matt
