Latin Quarter Hotels

Which hotels in the latin quarter would you recommend?

|||

hi, there... have you tried using the forum search yet..? there are already a lot of threads with hotel recs... try %26quot;latin quarter%26quot; and %26quot;5th arrondissement%26quot; etc....

At least it%26#39;s something to do while you wait.. :)

|||

It pretty much depends on your own personal preferences, priotities, special needs and BUDGET ??....And, when you use the term %26quot;..Latin Quarter..%26quot; do you mean the 5eme-Latin Quarter arrondissement ??...or do you mean the broader Left Bank neighborhoods of both the 5eme-Latin Quarter and 6eme-Saint Germain des Prés arrondissements ?? You%26#39;ll bet better directed and more responsive replies if you provide some DETAILS.

You might check out Hotel Grandes de Ecoles (sp).

I stayed there and enjoyed it. Bright rooms, quiet

courtyard/garden, very helpful staff, metro 1 1/2

blocks away, very close to Contrascarpe, rue

Mouffetard and the Pantheon.

I liked Henri IV Rive Gauche, on rue St Jacques. The streetside rooms are quiet (double glazed windows) but on the upper floors you have a great view of St Severin (one of the oldest churches in Paris) and the Eiffel Tower (especially nice at night, with the sparkling lights).

I agree with the posters above, however, you need to give an indication of your budget and any other needs before anyone can really advise.

Dear JumpinThePond:

I stayed at the Best Western Jardin de Cluny, which is in the Latin Quarter- the 5th Arrondismont. I liked it very much although it was not as atmospheric as other hotels I%26#39;ve stayed in. The location was great-on a quiet side street, but within about a 10 minute walk to Notre Dame, and close to the Metro and shops. I wrote a review of the hotel, which you can read for more particulars. (I was the first to review the hotel, which now has a number of pretty good reviews.)

I%26#39;ve also stayed at the Hotel le Verneuil, which is technically in the 7th, ( I think) but on the border of the 6th. It is very charming and lovely. It%26#39;s only 2 blocks from the Seine and near the Musee D%26#39;Orsay and the Rue Jacob and Rue St. Peres. The rooms are small, as with most Parisian hotels, but it is situated in a lovely neighborhood on the Left Bank.

Bon chance and bon voyage!

I agree with Berkeley Treaveller, we also stayed there last year, very comfortable and everything is easily accesible from there.

|||

Enliven %26amp; Berkleytraveler, which Metro stop is closer to BW Jardin de Cluny, Cluny La Sorbonne or Maubert Mutualite? Thanks!

|||

Maubert Mutualité is closer but Cluny Sorbonne is at an easy walkable distance.

We stayed at Hotel Monge--lots of good reviews on Tripadvisor which is how we found it. The reviews are accurate--clean, small, and inexpensive. I didn%26#39;t find Julie as helpful as others but she wasn%26#39;t rude either. Check out the reviews.
