From our hotel location, walk or taxi?

We%26#39;ll be in Paris shortly (staying at the Yllen Eiffel (196 rue Vaugirard)), and with the strike going on, I%26#39;d like to know distances from our hotel to the following sites and whether they%26#39;re walkable or if a taxi is recommended:

-Arc de Triomphe

-Eiffel Tower

-The Louvre

-Notre Dame

-Montparnasse Tower

-Sacre Coeur

Also, if anyone has any idea what a taxi would cost to travel to any of these locations, that would be a big help! Thanks (Merci!).

Try walking and your body will tell you when to take a taxi.

Strike is still going on but in a %26quot;softer%26quot; way and we hope that things will return to normal SOON at least for a while (till Spring?).

Any guess on when %26#39;soon%26#39; is?

I%26#39;m keeping my fingers crossed! I hope the union/government discussions go well tomorrow.

Hi Katemax - I can assure you it%26#39;s walkable (well, maybe except going clear to Sacre Coeur, LOL), because for the first several trips to Paris I was too intimidated by the Metro to try it, so I walked absolutely everywhere. However, once the Metro returns to something like normal, it will be a great time saver. Don%26#39;t worry too much about this - when your body says it%26#39;s time to stop walking, you can sit in a cafe and do some people watching while having a coffee (or glass of wine!), and then when you%26#39;ve recuperated a bit you%26#39;re off again.

Sacre Coeur is a goodd place to walk from...downhill.
