So we%26#39;re all set with our apartment on the Ile St Louis from Parisaddress. Thank you everyone for all the great info. I%26#39;ve been doing some research on options for eating in the apartment but still having a French experience. Although we%26#39;ll eat lunch out a lot while we%26#39;re site seeing, we%26#39;d love to keep some of our dinner budget for going out to bars or buying more mementos etc. So my research has turned up the questions below... Thanks for all the help.
I%26#39;ve heard great things about traiteurs. I love the idea of pre-made hors d%26#39;ouvres that someone described for one near the Rue de Buci. That is so me--little bits of great food. How can you go wrong? Is there one closer to the Ile St Louis? Maybe one more French than Asian? Or is the one near Buci worth the small trek? Does anyone know the name or exact street?
Is Franprix near Place Maubert the closest supermarche? That%26#39;s what my pagesjuanes search turned up. We%26#39;re going to the Maubert Market for the experience and for some supplies. However, would I generally find better prices at the market or a supermarche--knowing not everything will be available at the market?
Are prices at a Nicolas, such as Depot Nicolas on Ile St Louis (I love pagesjuanes), and supermarche the same for wine or is one cheaper?
Thanks everyone. I love this forum.

Dear Summerw,
I believe the Traiteur in question is on the Rue de Buci. This is a great area for food, and worth the hike. You will find a supermarket as well as food stalls and the traiteur. Also, one of my favorite bakers, Paul, is there.
On the Ile St. Louis, you will find a wonderful fromagerie (sp?) cheese shop, which will help you feel very French when you buy from it.
One of my favorite shops in the Marais, is the Epicese du Monde (I think that%26#39;s it) meaning spices of the world. You can buy lots of goodies, here. You can find it by crossing the Pont Marie and heading straight up the main street, whose name currently escapes me, but it is a straight shot from the bridge into the Marais.
Cheers!

You%26#39;ll find nice food shop on the island, very close to your apartment!
For cheese :
La Ferme St Aubin
76 Rue Saint Louis en l%26#39;Ile
75004 PARIS
For a nice apéritif : toasts with original %26quot;tapenades%26quot; and a glass of wine and excellent olive oils (small cans available), don%26#39;t miss
Oliviers et Co : 81, rue st Louis en l%26#39;Isle 75004 Paris :: 01 40 46 89 37
For excellent chocolate (you%26#39;ll love the hot chocolate sauce to take away for chocolate fondues in your apartment), go to
Cacao et Chocolat
63 rue de Saint Louis en L%26#39;Ile
cacaoetchocolat.com/commerce/…accueil.php
For wines, you%26#39;ll find better little wine at a Nicolas, including wise advices, and not more expensive than in supermarkets.

As noted...there is more in the immediate neighborhood of the daily Mon-thru-Sat) rue de Buci market street than just traiteurs....there are both PAUL%26#39;S and KAYSER%26#39;S boulangeries...a NICHOLAS wine shop....the great Le DERNIÉRE GOUTTE wine shop....a CHAMPION supermarché....patisseries.......a wonderful little fromagerie along rue de Seine...a stall on rue de Buci that sells the best roasted chicken in Paris...a flower shop for table decoration....market stalls with fresh produce, seafood and meats...all within a couple-block radius of the Carrefour de Buci intersection.

Ok, so I was thinking...we%26#39;re closer to Market Maubert and that day is reserved for seeing the islands and the area near it, but you all have sold me on the area near Rue de Buci. It just sounds too good to be true. Thanks, Summer

Hi Summerw,
Just remember-Paris is a moveable feast!
I sure hope you like the Rue de Buci market area. I love it!
Bon chance and bon voyage.

There is another really good cheese shop on Ile St Louis, on the opposite side of the street and more or less across from Berthillon (I think), with a bright blue front. There also is a good produce shop on the cross street at the center of the island (rue des Deux Ponts), and a good boulangerie at the Right Bank end of that street.

summerw,
