What will be open on 2nd Jan?

Hi there,

We are considering coming to Paris from the 2-4th January and staying at the Hotel Des Grands Hommes overlooking the Pantheon

Will the city be open as such on the 2nd or is a lot of it still shut down for the new year(I hope this isn%26#39;t a daft question!)

The 2nd isn%26#39;t a jour ferié (official holiday), so I would assume everything should be open. I checked the Louvre website (http://www.louvre.fr) - it says it is closed Jan. 1, May 1, May 8, and Dec. 25.

Every will be open on January 2th !
