Metro Pass similar to Oyster Card?

The London Underground is so easy to use and they liberally advertize your payment options, but I%26#39;m struggling to understand how the Paris Metro works.

Can you buy something similar to an Oyster Card and use it on buses and tubes like in London?

Any help would be appreciated.

Please check out the %26quot;Paris Here We Come%26quot; entry on this site listed below yours. I just entered some information about the Metro system. Someone else will probably be kind enough to list a site where you can read on the Metro system details. My entry is shorter but hopefully has what you need.
