(this silly topic makes a change from the current strike talk)
Since travelling to New York years ago and buying a very large snow done (with a revolving sub way in the base - vey tacky - I love it), I%26#39;ve developed a fixation in buying similar high-quality, large snow domes of the places i go.
Just wondering if anyone can recommend where I may be able to purchase on in Paris?

As far as I know the only high quality ones are the ones made by Goebel, which have the Hummel children in side. These may have wintery scenes, but not tourist attractions, and the children are German ( although they could look like children from a few countries ).
There was a good shop selling loads of Hummels in Paris and they may stock the snow globes.

Unfortunately, most snow domes I have seen in tourist shops are not good quality.

How about in the arty shops in the underground at Louvre Carousel?If its anything like the UK then museum shops should have at least one or two better quality ones. There is probably a specialist snow globe shop in Paris - I mean after all there is one that sells just the musical chimes that you find in music boxes!
