I arrive in Nice next Sunday morning (with luggage) and will need to get to Cannes. What is there to do in Cannes after I deposit my luggage at the hotel? Any suggestions for simple dinner there before my event begins Monday?

If La Pizza is open on Sunday, head there; it%26#39;s down at the end of the port toward Le Suquet. Fabulous pizza, along with typical French dishes.

If the weather%26#39;s OK, suggest taking a promenade along the Croisette towards the old port- it was a bit of a mess last week , but the roadworks are scheduled to be finished just before you arrive. There is a sunday bric a brac market near the port and lots of yachts to look at.A climb up the hill to Le Suquet (the old town) and the castle gives great views. If you%26#39;re feeling adventurous, there are short ferry rides across to the Isles des Lerins too.
A good place for a simple dinner which is nearer to the Carlton than the old port is La Pizzaiola Chez Xavier on rue Marceau, just off the rue Antibes near the Gambetta market. It serves great wood fired pizzas and steaks and will be open on Sunday evening.
