We will have a 9 hour daytime stopover in Paris and would lik to leave the airport and see some sights. However, we will be switching airlines and will not be able to get rid of our luggage. I know there is no storage facility in CDG, any suggestions? We will have 4-6 large suitcases, 2 adults, 2 kids (9 and 12). Does it make sense to get to the Gare du Nord for the left luggage and then go from there? Any help would be great.

Four to six LARGE SUITCASES. yuck. Pack lighter.

Unfortunately travelling from Canada to Dubai for Christmas...bringing lots of stuff to the sisters! I%26#39;d love to pack lighter, trust me.

You can%26#39;t be certain to find that much luggage storage at Gare du Nord, so that is out.

Maybe this is not economically feasable but what about those shipping companies that ship your luggage for you? It probably has a better chance of getting to Dubai too.
Then each of you might have one rolling carryon.Otherwise, you%26#39;ll have to wait for your luggage.
I don%26#39;t have any experience with this but if you Google: Shipping Luggage from Canada to Dubai, several sites came up.

I know for a fact that Gare de Lyon has lockers you can stick your luggage in. They have three different sizes and you pay according to the size locker you use. It%26#39;s an entire room full of lockers and it has a security person at the entrance so your stuff is safe.
However, I agree that sending your luggage sounds like a better deal if you really want to maximize the value of your time in Paris.

I can confirm that Gare du Nord is one of the 3 train station in Paris that has lockers.
The left luggage room is closed during the night. Schedule is :
week days : 6:15am-11:15pm
weekend : 6:45am-11:15pm

Sure they have lockers, but there is no assurance that there will be enough room.
You could take the Air France bus to Gare de Lyon. If there is storage there, fine. If not, one could stay, the other go sight seeing with the children.

You might want to try checking with the carrier for your second flight segment, to see how early you could check in (and thereby leave most of the luggage at CDG). It may be that they would not allow you to check in more than four hours or so before flight time but if they would it could make a big difference to the logistics.

There are also lockers at Gare de Lyon.

I don%26#39;t know if this would work, but it may be worth looking (or maybe you did) at internet check-in. I know for Air France for example you can check in on-line 30 hours before the flight so you could do this then drop your bags at the baggage drop off point. I guess they will accept the bags if the check in has been done. I haven%26#39;t done this 9 hours before the flight, but worth checking.
