Where to go in South of France?

I will be travelling to Perpignan next year to the rugby.

We are planning to see a bit more of France before going to Perpiganan.

Where else in the South of France would be nice to visit?

I was origionally thinking of going to Nice first until I found out it is a six hour train ride.

Any advice much appreciated.

I would visit the Provence region. It has an endless supply of beauty, history, culture, and sunshine.

You may consult my goList for starting ideas. If you need more information about specific cities, look in the corresponding fora and Inside Pages.

Perpignan is only 15 mins by car from the Spanish border. It is easy to visit :

Costa Brava

Barcelona

Andorra

Collioure

Narbonne

Ceret

Beziers

Sete

Montpellier

The Languedoc-Rousillon area has more than enough for you to see.
