5 year anniversary

Hello all..

My wife and I are planning to go to Paris the last week of March 08%26#39; for our 5 year anniversary. 6 nights 3/26-4/01 I was in Paris about 12 years ago and my wife has never been,

I have a couple questions..

1. A decent hotel (110 Euros or less)

2. Suggestions on places to eat, places to go, etc..

Thanks!!

Dear Buckeyenut81,

Congratulations!

You can do a search on Tripadvisor of hotels by price, either in Euro or Dollar, etc. I just plugged in your approximate dates, and a list appeared with some good hotels that rank well on TA. I have not stayed at any of the hotels, so cannot provide a personal comment. I end up paying about 150 Euros per night, and like to stay in either the 1st (Relais du Louvre) 4th, 5th, or 6th Arrondisemonts, which are central, and where many of the tourist sights are.

I can highly recommend the follwoing places to go:

Le Sainte Chapelle

Luxembourg Gardens

The Cluny Museum with the wonderful Lady and the Unicorn Tapestries.

St. Germaine des Pres- for strolling through this lovely area including the Rue Jacob.

The backside of Notre Dame- for the small park and the flying butresses

The Ile St. Louis

The Marais

Brunch or Afternoon tea at Mariage Freres-Rue Bourg Tibourg

The Muse Carnavalet (the Museum of Paris in the Marais)

The Jacquemart-Andre House Museum on the Blvd. Houseman

The Place Madeleine for the food shops including Hediard and Lauderee (best chocolate macaroons in Paris-IMO)

The Faubourg St. Honore for high end shopping on the Right Bank

Evening strolls along the Seine

This is a very short list of the wonders of Paris.

Bon chance and bon voyage!

If you%26#39;re going for 6 nights, you may want to look into an apartment rental. You%26#39;ll most likely get more space than a hotel.

There are many agencies that rent apartments, and you can get recommendations on them by searching the TA site.

Have a great trip!

One popular apartment site that would be consistent with your budget is Vacation in Paris (www.vacationinparis.com), based in New Jersey (takes payment in dollars, by credit card or check). You might want to check out their web site and/or call them to see what would be available for your dates.

Have a great time!
