Visiting france with young kids (are we mad?)

I%26#39;m planning a 3 week trip (beginning 1st July) with my kids aged 8, 6 %26amp; 4. Given the ages of the kids, we don%26#39;t want to be too ambitious in how much of France we attempt to see. We%26#39;re also aware it will be the busiest time of year so we thought we%26#39;d avoid regions such as Cote D%26#39;Azur. We%26#39;re planning to visit 3 main areas with a couple of overnight stops here and there. Our next door neighbours who happen to be French have given us some advice and we%26#39;ve come up with this rough itinerary so far.

I%26#39;d love any advice...

WEEK 1: Collect hire car from Paris, overnight stay in Dunkirk to visit D-Day landing beaches; drive to Mont St Michael and have overnight stay in area; drive to western Brittany where we have found a nice looking house to rent in Huelgoat to use as a base to explore Brittany for a few days.

WEEK 2: Drive down to Bordeaux area for overnight stay; continue onto Coulliore (or somewhere near by - any suggestions?) and rent villa for 1 week to explore Languedoc-Roussillon region.

WEEK 3: Fly or catch train back to Paris. Rent apartment for 4 nights. Finish with 2 night stay at Disneyland.

How was your trip? Did you rent a villa in Languedoc-Roussillon region? I%26#39;m trying to plan a trip for next June with a 16, 13 and two 8 year olds.
