How close are these getting to airports and what is the possibility that they will affect tourists?

I%26#39;d like to know this also, any one in Paris know??
Thanks

According to reports on the internet, it was something that happened in a couple of suburbs, and has been controlled. I wouldn%26#39;t worry about it - also, there seems to have been much more in the international press than in the French press, which would seem to indicate that the French don%26#39;t think there%26#39;s anything to be very alarmed about.

Unless you go way off the tourist trail into social housing areas about 5-10 miles from Paris you will see nothing - and even if you were to go theses places too . Once again media hype has blown a local dispute into something way out of proportion. I live in the Paris suburbs and it%26#39;s life as usual.

ZERO possibility of effecting tourism.

I was in Paris with my family during the November 2005 riots (think of the present riots multiplied by 500), and had it not been for CNN, we never would have even known it was going on. You have no worries.

Thank you all for responding, I wasn%26#39;t sure if the %26quot;distance from Paris%26quot; was from the outer city limits or Notre Dame, etc... Hope all stay safe that are there.

Good Morning
These events are taking place in poor suburbs on the North side of Paris and are very isolated.
As previously posted, ZERO possibility that you will be affected while visiting the Eiffel tower, Le louvre or Musee d%26#39;Orsay.
Enjoy your Paris visit

Thank you everyone.

We were there during the 05 riots and never noticed a thing. I had heard of problems involving the RER so I arranged a shuttle.

I am always amazed at how isolated violent incidents in Paris get blown out of proportion by foreign press. It was on the opening page on my aol site yesterday!
Violence in poor suburbs of Paris re-occurs several times a year and often follows the same pattern.
Areas that are concerned are far from tourist sites. This said France has issues re. unemployment and immigration that need to be addressed and the sooner the better to avoid additional violent incidents.
