Strike impact on major tourist attractions.

I would like to use this thread for updates on current conditions encountered at major tourist attractions during the strike. I posted a similiar question in another thread and received a reply stating the possibility of major disruptions at certain locations.

This information would be useful in adjusting my daily route. I%26#39;m sure it could be useful to others as well. Than you.

Actually everything is quiet in Paris right now. Fewer people at ...work but also at museums, movies, theaters, restaurants...

But other than transportation and some universites/colleges...all seems to be running. Wonder what Sarko will negotiate and when?

As Photographe said, it is very quiet here right now - I%26#39;ve never seen it quite so quiet before.

Everything has been open during the strike and we have been able to walk or take the Batobus to wherever we wanted to go - with the exception of Verseilles etc - tried that a couple of days ago and it was a no go.

The Louvre, Ste Chapelle, Pantheon, Rodin. Orangerie etc., have had no lines at all, BUT have been closing early to allow staff extra time to make their way home. So far they have all closed the doors at 3-3.30 each afternoon (they all have small typed notices on the entry stating this).

So if you have a Museum Pass, be sure to start early in the day to take full advantage of it,

And anyone going to the Rodin to see Camille Claudel%26#39;s work (as I do) should be aware that ALL her pieces are currently in Spain until April - that was a major bummer.

And dress warm - it%26#39;s freezing here - bone chillingly cold!

I posted today on whats the best way?, we are coming over this saturday 24th nov for 3 nights flying to CDG and am worried how we are going to get from the aiport t3 to Saint-Michel for the Albe Hôtel...

Sounds like a taxi might be the sollution according to previous threads. I am a bit curious about congestion coming into town though. A taxi might get awfully expensive that way. Then again if taxis are scarse downtown, getting from the bigger station where the airport shuttles/coaches stop might be a hassle.

How is the congestion coming into Paris from CDG around 8 in the evening?

Hope they reach a settlement of somesort quickly..

Would it be fair to say then that the trains etc will not be running this saturday as they web say%26#39;s it currently a 24hr strike.. or is it a case of they are stiking hit and miss

|||

Talks are being held on the trains tomorrow. The employers claim that a fair number of people are presently turning up for work.

A limited service for the metro is claimed.

There are apparently long queues of traffic getting into and out of Paris.

Some local flights from Orly have been cancelled.
