Bouccicaut-jules joffrin

Hello!

i will be arriving in Paris tomorrow evening, and need to get from rue de la convention (15eme) near bouccicaut metro to montmartre (by jules joffrin metro station). seeing as the strikes have scuppered my metro plan, How much should i expect to pay for a taxi, or am i better off booking another hostel and paying the cancellation fee??

Thanks!

Depending on the time of day, the Metro may still be an option. During the strike, the Metro is free so check the platform and see if you can get on a train. If you can%26#39;t get on a train, a taxi should cost between 10€-15€.

I don%26#39;t know how long you%26#39;re staying but I strongly recommend you consider moving as close to the center of Paris as possible. The MIJE hostels are pretty nice and in the exact center of Paris. http://www.mije.com/

If you%26#39;ve never been here before, the Jules Joffrin (Mairie du 18eme) area is a LONG way from all the sights in Paris. It%26#39;s an unreasonably long walk if you hope to spend long days sightseeing.

I think I was unclear on this. The RATP is not requiring that you purchase a ticket at the moment. If you enter a station and the turnstiles are dark (shut off), you can enter just by passing through the turnstile and so a ticket isn%26#39;t necessary. The people who manage tickets are on strike so the Metro is free at the moment. That could change tomorrow morning.
