Hotels in 1st or 2nd

Was looking for hotels in this area - if anyone has any suggestions it would be appreciated. Have been to Paris several times, but have never stayed in this vicinity. We can do a max of $250-300 USD per nite. We are also in search of a room with a real shower - not the hand-held thingy that is a challenge to use! Many thanks!! We leave in less than a month!

In the 1st we liked the Hôtel Mansart, just off the Place Vendôme; it shares a wall with the Ritz. Good-sized rooms for Paris (we had a superior twin with a large bathroom), antique furnishings, quiet. On the same street are an ATM, a post office, and a pharmacy. Good restaurants nearby.

Catullus - Thanks much!

I will check it out for sure!

Catullus,

Do you happen to know the email address for the hotel or is there a website? I have only been able to find other sites that you can book through - have found it is better to deal directly with the hotel. Strange that I can%26#39;t locate a website. Thanks in advance.

Hotel Britannique is in the 1er and is a really nice place, very well located, spotless and good breakfast. I highly recommend it.

Thanks, Les68 - i will check out.

The reviews of the others here weren%26#39;t great on trip advisor...

Catzz ~ we%26#39;ve stayed at the Hotel Therese in the 1er twice %26amp; going back next month. Small hotel with a great location. Note that the %26quot;standard%26quot; room are REALLY small, but they are well laid out and very clean. The building is rather old, and has been beautifully renovated ~ we think it has charm (some call it %26quot;quirks%26quot;!).

Good luck with your search.

Thanks.... I looked it up on trip advisor though and saw this:

%26quot;am very sorry to say that although the hotel was good, the staff nice and location great that my son and i contracted scabies here in the club room (Euros 280 p night) .We did see some fleas on the bed on our second night and some small black bugs.

We are extremely upset about this as it has ruined memories of the trip%26quot; hmmm....
