Food help:)

You all have been such a great wealth of information...I%26#39;m hoping you can help again.

We are staying in the 16th...near Trocadero. Any suggestions on places to eat that are reasonably priced? We have no fancy clothes, just jeans - so casual is fine.

Also - what time is dinner normally served...and lunch too? We went to Italy recently and drove all around the country. Our only problem was we could never get our stomachs and meal time synch%26#39;d! We were travelling with a large group and somehow always ended up in small towns where lunch was already done...yet we hadn%26#39;t eaten! Or we arrived well before places opened for dinner, yet we were STARVING!

I%26#39;m hoping being in a bigger city, this won%26#39;t pose too big a problem...but I wanted to make sure!

any tips would be great!

You can eat something at any time of day in Paris, it just depends on the type of place. Restaurants usually have a lunch seating and a dinner seating, and might close for a couple hours between them. Lunch is probably noon-2-ish, dinner usually doesn%26#39;t start until 7ish (although locals eat more like 9pm ). But there are brasseries that operate all day and late evening, so you can just get whatever you want from the %26#39;carte%26#39;.. they might have two seating areas, one for %26#39;casual%26#39; dining and one for %26#39;nicer%26#39; dining. Also, plenty of walk-up counters where you can get sandwiches, little quiches, etc.

Well you won%26#39;t starve in Paris, there are street side Creperies all over the place and there in nothing as yummy and filling as a fresh made ham, cheese, and tomatoe crepe,, ah heaven. LOL

We tend to eat in cafes mostly and found food available most of the time, we did note that most RESTAURANTS open later for dinner and are not always open for lunch. Later meaning service not starting till 7 or 7:30 pm.

We brought a decent outfit as we did eat in nicer places three times, but most nights we were in very casual touristy clothes ,, we never felt out of place in the cafes and bistros in that garb. We would not have gone that casual if we were dining in a restaurant.
