Any rec%26#39;s on traveling from Paris to Rome per say? Train is the best option? If so, please reccommend. Thanks!

If you are enthusiastic about trains, go for it. I love trains, but I don%26#39;t think I could survive for that long of a ride. (Anywhere from 12-15.5 hours.) The best train route seems to be the night train from Paris Bercy to Roma Termini (14h44 on the train) - it has no transfers.

is flying better? i heard the trains are not all that great.

Flying is a definite possibility. Try searching for flights on www.sidestep.com. R/T flights range from $104-150. Be aware that some airlines fly out of minor airports further away from the town itself. Thus, if the difference between flying out of BVA and CDG are only a few dollars, pick the flight originating in CDG; it%26#39;s much more convenient. Same principle applies to the airports in Rome.

If you%26#39;re looking for cheap one-way flights, you could also search www.whichbudget.com or www.skyscanner.net/ The usual warning is to make sure you read the small print - and check the final price, rather than their headline %26#39;cheap%26#39; rate (depending on airline, there may be additional charges for airport taxes, luggage, seat reservation, airport check-in, payment by credit card, but they should all appear before you pay). They should all be much cheaper and faster than the train - well under 50€ total for some flights on Easyjet from Orly, for example.
